Tyler, the Creator has had his UK ban revoked and planned a show in Peckham to celebrate.

As previously reported by GRM Daily, Tyler was banned from entering the UK a few years ago due to controversial lyrics included on older albums such as Bastard and Goblin.

At the time, the Home Office said, “coming to the UK is a privilege, and we expect those who come here to respect our shared values. The Home Secretary has the power to exclude an individual if she considers that his or her presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good or if their exclusion is justified on public policy grounds”.

Following this, a fan launched a petition to ask the UK government to revoke the ban. The petition received close to 6,000 signatures.

Fans were therefore surprised and excited to learn that Tyler the Creator was in London and promised an impromptu show at Copeland Park in the heart of South London’s Peckham- home to Giggs and Morley’s.

Fans flocked to Peckham in the 100s but were quickly disappointed when the show was cancelled by the police as the crowd were too “rowdy”. Check out some videos from the event below.

Tyler, the Creator then filmed a video with Odd Future member and business partner Jasper Dolphin where he apologised to fans and promised an upcoming event for his UK fans soon.
