Prestigious American hip-hop magazine XXL and their even more-so prestigious XXL Freshman list, have taken note of the UK for the first time, adding 2 of London’s finest onto their long list of choices.
Little Simz and Jay Prince both find themselves as options for the list, marking a huge personal landmark for the pair, as well as for our culture as a whole, as they have a chance to appear on one of hip-hops most talked about events.
It’s no surprise that 22 year old, Islington-born Little Simz makes the list, as she capped off a huge year by finding herself on the coveted Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Not to mention dropping an incredible debut album and some other award worthy music too. She’s set to appear at Glastonbury this year alongside Stormzy and Skepta, so expect to continue to see this young woman succeed.
East London’s Jay Prince is a noble candidate too, having spent the last few years developing a name for himself overseas, alongside the likes of Soulection. Having just got off a tour, he let go of a new song to celebrate, which you can listen to below.
