As he took to the stage ahead of winning the biggest prize of the evening, Dave delivered a powerful message as he performed “Black”.
Taking the opportunity as millions watched live, Dave used his platform to call out Boris Johnson for racism and the British media for their treatment of Meghan before sharing a sentiment for his friend, Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones, the victims of the London Bridge attack.
Not content with stopping there, Dave went on to raise awareness for the victims of Grenfell, the Windrush generation and the environmental issues of the world today.
Later in the evening, Dave went on to scoop the biggest prize of the night, as his debut album, Psychodrama was named Album of the Year.
