On another episode of Fifa & Chill with Vuj and Poet, special guest and British Football legend Frank Lampard joined the duo on the sofa to discuss the current England national team, looking forward to next years World Cup as well as reflecting on his own career.

Although the conversation comprised of a number of footballing topics, a substantial amount of focus was placed on the discussion of why England have failed to win a major International trophy.

When looking back on England’s Euro 2004 side, a squad in which Frank expressed his faith in, he revealed his opinions on why England have been unable to win a major competition. When comparing with countries such as Argentina, Frank explained how he learned a lot from former Argentine teammate, Hernan Crespo.

He stated how players from countries such as Argentina and Spain tend to play all over the world; but differently, English players tend to stay in the Premier League. Frank stressed how this lead to some a lot of intense rivalries between players over the season that were then expected to be amended when the national team came together, something which he elucidates to be a hindrance to their success on a greater scale.

Frank also spoke on other lighter topics, telling Vuj and Poet how Dider Drogba’s animosity was a major component in Chelseas success under Mourinho, something which also made him one of his favourite teammates to play along side.

He also used the time to speak highly on Jose Mourinho, saying, “He changed my whole outlook on Football, he was a great for the premier league and really started a whole new era of a manager.”
