After 16 years away from music, hip-hop duo Gang Starr have enlisted the help of J.Cole to join them on their comeback track, “Family and Loyalty”.The track features Guru who sadly passed away back in 2010.
When asked about the track DJ Premier said: “This record means so much to me, it’s a continuation of what I never wanted to end.
“It’s a very foreign place for me and very emotional. I get happy, sad, excited; my feelings are kind of all over the place. But predominantly, just very happy to be making music with Guru again.”
With it’s J.Cole feature teamed up with Guru on the verses, and DJ Premier handling production, it’s like Gang Starr never left.
