What’s great about the young and developing scene we have in London (and beyond), is the sheer diversity of it. It seems every day a new artist is coming to our attention, sounding new and innovative and original, yet still so distinctly British.
Artists are getting weird and artists are getting experimental, and it’s due time we started highlighting some of these creatives that may otherwise slip under our radar. With that being said, welcome back to Go Left; GRM’s guide to alternative grime, hip-hop and R&B, the best of what you may not have heard yet.
We’re back with the 23rd installment of Go Left, one that features an eclectic mix of electronic, rap, grime and R&B, quenching your need for new underground music.
We begin with singer/songwriter SIPPRELL, who provides us with an infectiously serene “Journey”, with the help of an array of producers such as Ragz Originale, Alaistair O’Donnell and Benjii Flow.
Rapper Teks Sinatra continues the soulful trend with “Lounging”, whilst New World Ray, who makes his second feature on the playlist, calls for assistance from his “Ride or Die” in a lively track.
South London electronic producer Mastermind makes the playlist with his quirky but progressive “Don’t Leave Me Alone”, with mad saxophones running towards the end.
Finally, we end with an East Midlands collaboration between producer Massappeals and Nottingham MC Snowy, telling us the “Do / Donts” of his lifestyle over a grimy beat.
