When the announcement dropped that Eskimo Dance would be hitting the road with a Winter tour with four massive dates, venues sold out in days and the lucky people who grabbed a ticket waited in anticipation. The bigger news was that for the first time since its first incarnation in 2002, the annual celebration of grime and it’s culture was being brought to the cities of Bristol, Leeds and Leicester. From the first date in London’s Building Six, it was clear that everyone and anyone wanted to be involved with Flirta D, Lady Lykez, OGz, BBK and Griminal all coming through to bless the stage. The tour even held a ‘Fright Night’ special in Bristol and invited Fekky, Bugzy Malone and D Double E to shut the place down.

One of the biggest shows of the tour so far saw the Eskimo Dance roll into Leeds last Friday [20th Nov] and the likes of Wiley, Chip and Newham Generals perform with DJ sets from Logan Sama, Target and Marcus Nasty. One of the highlights of the night was a special B2B set with Kano and Ghetts [who recently linked up at Ghetts & Rudekid’s EP launch] to drop a nostalgic set with both MCs letting loose over a number of classic grime instrumentals mixed by Logan Sama. East London’s So Large also featured dropping a number of killer verses alongside grime royalty. Another set which people went crazy for was a link between Big Narstie and P Money, whose chemistry was crazy and made for a killer set. The pairing also invited Sheffield’s K Dot on stage whose wordplay showed why P Money linked up with the Scumfam MC on “Where I’m From“.

With one more date in Leicester this Saturday [28th Nov], who will roll through and who will link up and shut it down this time round?
