The 90s was the golden era for rap music, with the likes of Jay Z and Nas getting their start in the decade and still churning out hits today.

Most of us however were just kids back in the good old days, as were many of today’s big artists. And in this recently uncovered air hockey advert from the 1997, one of the world’s biggest artists gets his first big break.

Everyone’s aware of Drake’s career trajectory, the Canadian superstar rose to fame in the early 2000s in teen drama Degrassi before making his move to pop/rap/dancehall/just-about-every-genre star. However this ad proves that he got his big break before high school.

The parody advert for a fake hockey game sees Drizz taking a satirical pop at his country’s beloved national sport. He even gets his own line – something about goalies.
