Following the September drop of his tape Bad Commando, Rema has unveiled visuals for the big track “Lady”.
Nigeria has brought out some exciting talent in recent times and 19-year-old Rema does not fall short of that statement. The single kicks off with an energy pulsing drum pattern and light vocal cuts with the addition of echo and reverb effects. Before you know it you are sucked into the afrobeat groove as the lyrics flow nicely into the hook. From here onwards it’s effortless listening.
The visuals that accompany this riddim show a woman moving to the beat in a derelict, yet visually appealing space. Almost half way into the video we see Rema make an appearance as victim, tied down and assumingly being kept hostage. This symbolic reference to lust and passion felt from him towards her match with the songs feel and resonate nicely.
