Rising artist Shango SK has shared not one but two new singles entitled “Sleeping On My Own” and “The Rush”.
Citing acts such as Future, Oasis and Bon Iver as his musical influences, Shango’s love for different sounds shines through on his two new tracks as both contain elements from different genres. “Sleeping On My Own”, in particular, is a fusion of indie and R&B with the outcome being an introspective yet upbeat drop.
Speaking on the track, the Stockport-raised artist said: “Sleeping On My Own is about getting cold feet basically. Having my own time and space to think is vital for my happiness, unfortunately in this case I felt smothered. This is the aftermath of being innocent, going from being crazy in love with someone and having to constantly chase themfor gratification, to the roles being flipped and them now chasing you and it being overwhelming.”
