Yesterday, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ Charlie Sloth hosted the first ever visual weekly hip hop programme on the BBC.
‘Charlie Sloth’s Rap Up’ will be a weekly show exclusive to the Radio 1 channel of BBC iPlayer. Every week, Charlie will deliver a Rap Up of everything that’s big in the world of hip hop – interviews, new releases and exclusive live performances.
Presented from Charlie’s very own hip hop basement, expect big name guests, a special guest producer making live beats, must-see new music videos, hot news and gossip from the US, a ‘Fire in the Booth’ teaser and an exclusive performance every week.
His first show features an exclusive performance from Dizzee Rascal and Giggs of the track “Nutcrackerz”, and an interview with US rapper Big Sean. Charlie will also bring all the gossip from the hip hop community with his regular weekly ‘Gossip Girl’ feature where he catches up with Valerie Lora to spill the beans and bring all the biggest news from across the pond.
The programme will be available every Friday on the Radio 1 channel of BBC iPlayer and is produced by Wise Buddah and Jump Off TV for BBC Radio 1.
