Tonight (December 9), the MOBOs returned for its 2020 edition and a number of big names scooped up awards during the ceremony.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony – hosted by Maya Jama and Chunkz – took place virtually this year and was instead streamed on YouTube but that didn’t take away from the celebratory nature of the night.
With Headie One and Nines both going number 1 with their albums EDNA and Crabs In A Bucket respectively this year, it comes as no surprise that the two north London stars both picked up awards, with Headie receiving the award for Best Male Act and Nina scooping up the Best Hip-Hop Act award.
Taking home the award for Best Female Act was Leicester’s Mahalia, while Nottingham’s Young T and Bugsey received the Song of the Year award. Also receiving awards were the likes of Jme, Chunkz, Wizkid, Buju Banton and more.
In addition to revealing the winners, the night also saw performances from the likes of Headie One, Shaybo, M Huncho, Tiana Major9, Loski, Davido, Stylo G and more.
