Last night (June 6) the 2021 edition of the BAFTA Television Awards took place to celebrate the best of British TV over the past year.

The event was hosted by comedian Richard Ayoade at a socially-distanced ceremony with some nominees in the crowd while others accepted awards via video call.

During the night, it was revealed The Big Narstie Show won the BAFTA for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme, beating the likes of The Ranganation and Charlie Brooker’s Antiviral Wipe.

Michaela Coel was also a big winner on the night as she scooped up the prize for Best Leading Actress for her role in I May Destroy You. It comes two weeks after she won writing and directing prizes for the series at the BAFTA Craft Awards.

Other winners include dance group Diversity, Small Axe‘s Malachi Kirby and the powerful BBC drama, Sitting In Limbo.
