The 29th September sees global star Wizkid hit London for a very special performance at the Royal Albert Hall. After shutting it down at Wireless Festival last weekend, fans will be quick to catch a glimpse of the Nigerian artist upon his return.

In preparation for his return, we thought it would be only right to round up 5 moments where the UK and Wizkid collided. Here they are:

1. Ojuelegba Remix with Skepta & Drake

This was a remix that sent the UK scene into a frenzy. Whilst the majority of it stemmed around it being the first Drake x Skepta collaboration, it was a big introduction for many into the talents of Wizkid, and was the catalyst for his profile rising on our shores.

2. Wizkid x Disturbing London

GRM Daily

Disturbing London and Wizkid has been a long standing concrete relationship. Having managed the artist for many years, it was most likely the first big encounter for Wizkid and the UK – something that is as strong as ever to this day.

3. Shutting down the Wireless main stage last weekend

Last weekend saw the Nigerian superstar grace the main stage of arguably one of the biggest festivals this country has to offer. Looking at the video evidence above, not only was the turnout big, but the crowd were definitely feeling the kid.

4. Yung Fume – “Watch Me Flex”

Social media went crazy when Wizkid was seen on his Instagram vybing to Yung Fume’s “Watch Me Flex”. He even went as far as making an impromptu remix and invited the south London rapper to come out for his set at Wireless Festival.

5. Mamacita with Tinie Tempah

In July last year, Tinie Tempah and Wizkid finally linked up on banger “Mamacita” and instantly became a worldwide hit. Touted as one of the best videos of last year, it was well worth the wait.
