Welcome back to #GRMFreshestOut, the one-stop place for the hottest tunes of right now. In this week’s homegrown section, we’ve got new bangers from some of Grime’s heaviest hitters, as well as the return of a new producer we’ve hotly tipped for huge things. If you need to know the best songs of the week, then check in here every week, with our guy Griff.

Chip ft. D Double E & Jammer – School Called Grime (The Streets Remix)

With his return to grime going pretty strong, Chip takes to the streets with Risky Roadz to shoot a new video for the remix to “School Of Grime”. The remix features a sample of The Street’s classic “Has It Come To This” and creates a more melodic and chilled backdrop than the original, breathing a new life into the tune.

Kano – New Banger

Kano is two for two with his new singles. “New Banger” takes off exactly where “Hail” left off – a raucous and energetic track, with production from another bass-orientated beat maker Mele. There’s only one demand required from the listener: skank.

KwolleM – Stand Up Tall

KwolleM is an upcoming producer I’ve showcased before in Freshest Out and he’s done enough for us to pay notice yet again. Re-working Dizzee Rascal’s classic “Stand Up Tall” into something wholly different from the original, and not in a bad way. Again featuring a soulful vocal sample and a real chilled out vibe, this is sounding big. Is Mellow Grime the future?

Scrufizzer – Don’t Get Rude

After showing us his versatility just about every week, with a slew of quality releases, Scrufizzer is back again. However, this time he’s straight grime.

Maverick Sabre ft. Joey Bada$$ – We Don’t Wanna Be

This may or may not be cheating, as Joseph Badmon is from the States, but this tune is hard as nails and Maverick Saber reps Hackney. The vocalist flexes some social commentary over a typically boom-bap sounding beat, and the results are top notch. Sounds like a hit if you ask me.
