It will come as no surprise to fans, considering the success of his hit TV drama Power, that the Starz TV network has greenlit 50 Cent’s new Black Mafia Family series.
50 Cent will serve as the executive producer, while Randy Huggins, who worked on Criminal Minds, The Shield and Power has been named as writer.
The series is based on the real-life story about the rise of Detroit brothers Demetrius ‘Big Meech’ and Terry ‘Southwest T’ Flenory. It shows how the brothers became one of America’s most prominent crime groups and their intersection with the hip-hop world.
The rapper announced last year that he was working on the series:
“I told you Black Mafia Family was coming and it’s going to be the biggest show on television. Meech and Terry are legends and I am excited to bring their story to Starz”.
