After escaping somewhat of a life sentence in prison, Tekashi 6ix09ine has just received a two-year prison sentence. Although having already served 13 months of that, the rapper is expected to be granted freedom come the end of 2020.

When released, 6ix9ine will be on supervised release for five years where he will have to complete 500 hours of community service. He will also have to pay a fine of $35,000.

Before being handed his sentence, 6ix9ine sat sheepishly in the courthouse with the judge admitting that the rapper has cooperated in “tremendous fashion” and continued to say, “one way or another the full range of your conduct would have come to light.”

Solicitor of 6ix9ine, Engelmayor revealed that the rapper had met with police on 26 separate occasions and continued to make it clear that although Tekashi may not have pulled the trigger in the shootings, it was clear that he held some responsibility.

The judge at the hearing added, “In my judgment, your conduct is too violent and selfish to make 13 months reasonable. You will not be going free today.”

6ix9ine then went on to read a letter to the court, where he commented on his father abandoning his family when he was in primary school. The rapper also said that although he has made bad choices in his 23 years, it doesn’t make him a bad person.

Tekashi is reported to be leaving prison come the end of next year, and is expected to make a comeback with the music too after he allegedly signed an £8 million record deal from inside prison.
