Last night (September 7) British band Gorillaz and west London’s AJ Tracey treated U.S. viewers with a special performance of their recent collaboration, “Jimmy Jimmy”, on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
Taken from Gorillaz’s Meanwhile EP, “Jimmy Jimmy” is an upbeat track from the two acts that sees AJ steer away from the hard-hitting rap beats he’s used to, to flow over a more indie-infused beat.
The 3-track Meanwhile EP was released towards the end of August to keep the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival alive despite its cancellation for the second year in a row. As well as featuring AJ Tracey, the project also includes appearances from west London’s Jelani Blackman and Jamaica-born, London-based Alicai Harley.
