Australian pop rock duo, Lime Cordiale, join forces with the multitalented package in Idris Elba in visuals for “What’s Not To Like”.
Idris Elba takes lead in the vocals here and although we’ve previously heard him rap, he reveals his singing abilities on this track. He does so in quite a conversational manner, allowing him to have complete control in his intonations.
Additionally, with thumping drums and sparky electric guitars that are typical of a soft pop rock instrumental and short lines for lyrics, his message is concise and well-backed up as he talks about finding yourself and not caring about the thoughts of others. Lime Cordiale are solid on the chorus (and instrumental) as they deliver a chant-like flow that makes the song memorable.
The video of “What’s Not to Like” is also very experimental and creative. A lady is cleaning a bar, when she moves to the slots machine and the trio appear to be having fun.
Lime Cordiale stated that Idris Elba took the creative direction for the video as they all expressed the different versions of themselves, and we can expect to see more of them together as they prepare for a joint album in the new year.
