The 31-year-old was due at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court, in west London, accused of harassing Kidulthood co-star and writer Noel Clarke.

The actor allegedly posted abusive and threatening messages on social media relating to Clarke.

Deacon, who won a Bafta rising star award in 2012 for directing Anuvahood, was due before magistrates at 10.45am but when he failed to appear an hour later, the warrant was issued.

Since failing to appear in court earlier, Deacon has made several posts on his Twitter account.

Deacon is accused of one count of harassment without violence between March 5th and December 19th last year.

The actor, who is also a rapper, played firearms officer Robbie in Channel 4 police drama Babylon, shown last year.

He is best known for playing main character Jay in the films Kidulthood and its sequel Adulthood.

He was due to make his first appearance in court after being charged on 20th December.

Deacon’s bail conditions stated that he was not to contact Clarke or any member of his family or friends, and was not to post anything online that is related to the 39-year-old.

Issues between the two came to light in 2011 after Deacon accused Clarke of trying to bully him.

Below are a few tweets from the actors to each other:
