Is this the worst own goal in history?

Everybody has bad days. It’s just normal. It’s gotta be pretty damn special for one to go THIS badly though.

Minnesota United recently took on the Premier League’s very own AFC Bournemouth in a friendly match during the pre-season. Bournemouth ran riot as 4-0 winners, but one moment and one goal is going to be what’s remembered from this game.

Minnesota’s keeper, Sammy Ndjock – a Cameroon international as well mind you – went to throw the ball out to start a quick counter attack. He changed his mind and (we can assume) the ball slipped out of his hands and was pelted into the back of his own net. Classic.
