In some surprising news, Brits who snore could be entitled up to £156 a week in DWP benefits.

The benefit in question is the Personal independence payment (PIP) which is paid to those with long-term or physical or mental health conditions. Sleep Apnea, depression, hearing loss and diabetes are among the ‘hidden health conditions’ which could make you eligible for the payment.

Sleeping apnea happens when the muscles in the back of a person’s throat relax too much when breathing. The condition includes symptoms such as gasping, tiredness and mood swings and can escalate if not treated.

PIP is available to claim for those also working full time or claiming other benefits. According to Kent Live, there are around 2,217 people who are claiming support from PIP for sleep apnea and upper respiratory tract problems.
