It has been reported that Donald Trump’s star has been vandalised on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
The man responsible for the damage, Jamie Otis, used a sledgehammer and pick axe to destroy the star and claimed he did it because of Trump’s attitude towards women.
The incident took place yesterday morning and Otis, who posed as an construction worker, told Deadline Hollywood that he planned to auction off the smashed Walk of Fame star to raise funds for the many women that have accused Trump of sexual assault (claims that the 70-year-old strenuously denies).
Otis, who left the scene before LAPD arrived, faces vandalism charges and could spent up to 3 years in jail if found guilty.
The group that inducts celebrities into the Hollywood Walk of Fame are known as the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and their President Lenron Gublber said, “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees.”
He added, “When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California State landmark.
“Our democracy is based on respect for the law. People can make a difference by voting and not destroying public property.”
Unsurprisingly several people took to Twitter to praise Otis for his actions:
Trump was given the star in 2007 and said it was a “special moment in his life.”
