Rising London-based R&B star and escape plan member MaZz has returned with a new jam titled “dead 2 me”, featuring Manchester songstress Felicia Buena.
Shaped by a mellow, neo-soul instrumental courtesy of Yogic — MaZz and Felicia position “dead 2 me” as an unapologetic middle finger to an ex-partner. The best friends-turned-collaborators pull from the classic R&B playbook, with production reminiscent of Solange, Erykah Badu and Sade, engraved with a modern twist.
MaZz and Felicia tap Claryn Chong for the visuals, as they reaffirm the song’s message alongside their friends.
“Dead 2 Me” follows MaZz’s indie number “cityscape”, which dropped in September 2022, as well as Felicia’s downtempo “loser for love”, released last summer.
