As part of promotion for Apple Music Presents Skepta Live From London this Friday night, Jme spoke to his sister Julie Adenuga on her Beats 1 radio show recently.
Among other special guests featured on her show from 8pm Monday – Thursday, Jme was one of the first to speak on his brothers biggest show to date.
The 31-year-old spoke candidly about Skeppy’s career and the show, saying, “Skepta, the artist Skepta, is just someone who’s been making music his whole life. Just floating through life making the music he wanted to make but not really realising that the music he’s making is affecting the world around him. And now he’s at a point in his life and a point in his career when he realises that everything he’s doing is affecting life around him immediately. Immediately affecting life around him in a massive way.
“This isn’t the start of his career, but this is the start of his realisation that the music he’s making is changing lives so this is his first show – that’s how I see it. That’s how I’d say it to them – this is like Skepta’s first show of that new mindset,” he continued. “This show is going to be remembered. This show is going to be remembered as the show of this time.”
He wasn’t the only one to reveal his thoughts on what the show could hold either. Giggs also came through to Beats 1 to talk about the forthcoming show, where the Landlord said, “We don’t look at it like, ‘Yeah this is the biggest show!’ Because we wanna go bigger. Yeah it’s like the biggest show so far but, let’s be honest man, it’s gonna get bigger and bigger.”
The show is set to be live-streamed at 9pm on Apple Music around the world on Friday. You can listen to parts of the interviews below.
