It was a Saturday afternoon to remember in Northwest London as a sold-out Wembley Stadium were treated to 20 goals and a penalty shoutout in the latest charity clash between Sidemen and YouTube Allstars
In a year in which the past decade has been celebrated, it’s the perfect time to reflect on 2016 and the inaugural Sidemen versus YouTube Allstar match which was hosted in front of 30,000 at Southampton’s St. Mary’s Stadium.
10 years on, progress has reached a celebratory ceiling as 90,000 roared on their favourites at Wembley Stadium for the second year in a row.
It had a sense of cup-final day as the masses took the iconic walk of Wembley Way under the beaming sun. Every direction was a sight to see as influencers, vloggers and vendors packed the streets, with family and friends in matchday attire to create a buzzing atmosphere.
Prior to the showdown and with seats being filled by the minute, Sidemen’s very own Vikkstar set off the crowd with an eye-catching DJ set as stars KSI, Deji, Danny Aarons and more were minutes away from the action.
The first twenty minutes were fitting enough for a match report as King of the Jungle Angry Ginge gave the lead to YouTube Allstars with a powerful header. His celebrations were cut short though, as a quick five-minute turnaround by Sidemen saw the score turn to 2-1 in which TBJZL scored the goal of the day with an audacious, outside of the boot strike from a freekick.
The first 45 would end with the crowd needing to catch its breath, ending 4-4 in a half which saw VAR drama with Mark Clattenburg, JasonTheWeen missing a penalty and Miniminter equalising with the last kick to get YouTube Allstars back in the game.
Half-time wasn’t deemed as a refreshment break, as U.K veteran Tinie Tempah had his own highlight reel, beginning his half-time performance in the dressing room with both teams before setting out the tunnel to the 90,000 arena for classics in “Pass Out” and “Written In The Stars” with long-time friend DJ Charlsey.
The entertainment then continued as the crowd got an annual yellow card surprise from Max Fosh and a Wembley ‘Mexican Wave’ which journeyed from the North to South stand.
A further 12 goals then hit the back of the net as Miniminter completed a hattrick, AJ Shabeel bagged from the penalty spot, hitting the Siu to celebrate, Niko Omilana belted an audacious half-volley and a last-minute equaliser from ItalianBach gave YouTube Allstars their lifeline as the score ended 10-10.
Penalties began with attempts from managers taking the forefront. Calfreezy scored the first goal for YouTube Allstars, while Jack Joseph missed, putting his Sidemen team on the back foot. Following a tense shootout, YouTube Allstars were victorious 4-1 winning the Sidemen Charity Match 2026!
