After last week’s chart takeover by J Cole and Nines, this week was the turn of Post Malone who currently has a staggering eighteen tracks in the top 50 from his Beer Bongs and Bentleys album. It seems to be a regular occurrence these days but Post set records for the highest first day release streaming numbers. Although he’s taking up so much of the chart right now, there are still some serious moves being made by from our homegrown talent.

At only 16 years old, EO has burst onto the scene with incredible force. After dropping his visuals for his track “German” on GRM’s channel, he’s done an absolute madness in numbers. It’s at number 18 in the charts climbing five spots from last week’s position. It’s massively deserved for the young star who is representing the potential of the younger generation coming up. EO has just released a new one with AJ and Deno, you can watch that here.

Elsewhere we have good vibes only with MO, Lotto Boyz and Mr Eazi who are still going strong with “Bad Vibes” at number 22 this week only dropping one spot from last week. They’ve been on the charts for 14 weeks with this one, we’re sure some fresh sounds will be coming real soon from girl gang. Talking of girl gang, Raye, Mabel and Stefflon Don’s track “Ciggerette” is at 47 this week, the talent of those three combined was always going to be a recipe for success.

Straight underneath “Ciggerette” is the man himself Nines, with his Steel Banglez produced anthem “I See You Shining”. His Crop Circle album is sitting at number 12 this week and is still the talk of the scene. Everyone is anticipating which track is going to have some visuals for released next, we’ll be sure to have them on GRM as soon as they drop.

This week saw the #Merky festival in Ibiza line up announced. It’s the stuff of dreams with the highest calibre of acts in the UK scene performing poolside. Included in that line up is Ramz, who presumably has had the year of his life to date. His track “Family Tree” is at number 54 this week. Check the full #Merky line up here.

That’s it for now. There’s a fresh batch of UK music due this week, so you’re going to want to check back then as we talk you through where those massive projects are in the chart.
