This week we’re back with another outstanding week for homegrown music in the charts. We’re now developing consistent UK stars each week and right now they’re shining as usual. Let’s get into the rundown.
The undefeatable duo that is Not3s and Mabel are still sitting high at number 14 with “Fine Line” after 9 weeks on the chart. Not3s is also at number 44 with “My Lover”, it’s a good look for the artist this week with so much more to come from him this year.
Sitting straight under Not3s and Mabel at 15 this week is B Young’s “Jumanji”, which is definitely one of the biggest bangers of the year so far. We’re patiently waiting to hear what he’s cooking up next. If you haven’t already seen it, catch the remix featuring 23 and Chip.
MoStack’s “What I Wanna” has climbed this week, it’s at number 33 from last week’s 36. Anyone blessed enough to be at Krept and Konan’s show at Kentish Town Forum last Thursday would have witnessed his shutdown performance, firstly coming out with his verse on the “Liar Lair” remix and then performing “No Words” with Dave. Needless to say the whole show was a moment for the scene, be sure to catch all the artists at a whole host of festivals this summer for more mad performances.
Hardy Caprio is on a path to even more greatness this year, his hit “Rapper” is at 43 in the charts right now. Sitting just below is the Raye, Mabel and Stefflon Don track “Cigarette” which is at 46 this week. Straight under them is Yungen with his new entry this week “Mind on It” featuring Jess Glynne, we’re waiting for visuals on this one, they’re sure to be something special.
On top of all that, we have another new entry this week with, Yxng Bane’s “Vroom”, it’s gone straight in at 45. If you haven’t caught the visuals for this one yet, check them here. It’s been a minute since we’ve had a solo Bane release and this one doesn’t disappoint.
When it comes to albums this week we have two of the most influential projects of last year, J Hus’ Common Sense and Stormzy’s GSAP, standing strong at 39 and 36 respectively. In terms of numbers, Common Sense has now been on the charts for an incredible 45 weeks, whilst GSAP has charted for a total of 56 weeks. Two of the biggest to do it right now more than deserve those kind of numbers. Here’s hoping their second albums are coming real soon.
That’s it for this week. We’ll have another chart run down for you soon right here on GRM Daily.
