After the immense controversy surrounding an incident of racism from students at Nottingham Trent University last week, Chuckie and Poet use this weeks Halfcast Podcast to discuss the issue of reverse racism.
Following the incident, two 18-year-old men have been held on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences. The victim, Rufaro Chisango tweeted a video of the abuse, where voices could be heard chanting “we hate the blacks”, whilst she was at her Universities student accommodation. Since, another 18-year-old woman was interviewed in connection with the incident.
Nottinghamshire Police said she “attended a voluntary interview and was questioned under caution”. All three people have been released pending further inquires.
The university said an unspecified number of “suspected perpetrators” had been suspended after Ms Chisango reported the abuse to security staff on Tuesday afternoon.
In response to the incident, alongside Young Filly, the Halfcast duo discuss the issue of reverse racism and how this also has also been a recurring issue in the rap scene for years.
