At this time of year, it’s so easy to get caught up in the present giving, overeating and general merryness of Christmas. However, December is one of the most important times of the year to consider those who aren’t as fortunate, and to make sure we do what we can to help their circumstances.

That’s exactly what Solomon of The Brixton Soup Kitchen has been doing since he was 11 years old. Originally handing out food packages containing extra’s from his mum’s kitchen to the homeless, as an adult he went on to fund The Brixton Soup Kitchen project from his own wages.

The project provides food, clothes and mental health counselling to those sleeping on the streets. It’s an open environment without stigma that is integral to many of those in need, feeding up to 80 people per day.

Find out more about the amazing work being done by the project above. You can find out how you can help the inspirational organisation, here.
