Major Lazer and Bacardi have joined forces for The Sound of Rum, a collaboration bringing musical events and experience and limited edition BACARDÍ rum.
In this documentary, Stefflon Don and Nadia Rose share their thoughts on girls making it in the music industry and other women who have paved the way for them. Watch as BACARDÍ head to Cuba to chat to Spice, Mystic Davis and Tifa, female Reggae icons who inspired some of Britain’s females to fully embrace their musical aspirations.
The Sound of Rum is a conversational movement of sound that blurs lines between reggae, dancehall, soca, hip-hop and electronic music to bring fans of different genres together. It’s roots are sent in Cuba so the sound pays tribute to a distinct island vibe.
“This year for us is all about getting creative,” said DJ and producer Diplo. “We’re down with working with people who want to accelerate what we want to do musically, invest in our ideas, and create cultural moments and memories. BACARDÍ rum has been in the studios with us for ages and is part of the island vibe that inspires our sound, so the partnership comes from a deeper, more meaningful place.”
