With the release of the hugely successful Get Out on DVD, an interesting secret about the film has been released.
With the DVD came a complete alternative ending, and somehow, it’s even darker than the original.
Director Jordan Peele said he changed the ending because he wanted it to be a little more feel-good than the scrapped one. “There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing the audience go crazy when Rod shows up.”
In conversation with Collider, Kaluuya said, “I think me and Jordan [Peele] were kind of like, ‘This is the message.’ Let’s not relent. Let’s go for it,” Kaluuya said. “I remember when I was on the set in the prison I was like, ‘Jordan, are you really going to do this?’ And he goes, ‘I’m gonna do it.’ And then as time went on just hearing about how it tested, I understood the change.”
