Every day this week, Julie Adenuga will be broadcasting parts of her interview with J Hus over on Beats 1.

Now we’ve heard some of the conversation, we’ve already got a golden tidbit of information about a tune Husla appeared on.

He revealed to Julie that his hook on Stormzy’s “Badboys” tune was actually different to the final version, before Big Mike cut out half of it.

He said, “When I heard the intro I was like, ‘oh my days, this is a classic, this is mad, Stormzy you’re about to do something crazy right now’. I heard both the verses, and he was like you, just do whatever you want on it, whether you want to do a hook or a verse…

“I don’t even remember how it came, I just said it. I had an extended part too. I was burning when Stormzy removed it from the song. I’ve not told anyone about this, but there were two parts to the hook, he probably thought it was too complicated.”

J Hus will be premiering Common Sense track “Spirit” on Thursday evening with Julie Adenuga.
