When we think of one of the most hated “celebrities” in the country, there is one clear front-runner. She has offended and disrespected large swathes of society with her seemingly thoughtless and simply hurtful, vitriolic comments.
She does this often under the guise of freedom of speech, which puts the onus on the person offended rather than the person doing the offending. She branded names like “Tyler” and “Charmaine” as working class and claimed that she didn’t like geographical names like “Brooklyn or “London” despite her own daughter being called “India”.
Of course it’s Katie Hopkins we’re talking about and she’s only gone and stepped in it again this time tweeting “Dear Black People if your lives matter so much why do you stab and shoot each other so much.” Although the tweet was promptly deleted, comedian Dom Jolly managed to screen cap it and bring it to much wider attention and a debate has quickly ensued. How can she have posted something so stupid?
