A young man from the Dominican Republic has died after a bet went horrible wrong on a night out.
Kelvin Rafael Mejía, 23, was offered $630 to down an entire bottle of tequila, which he did on stage under encouragement from the audience.
He swiftly felt the effects of it and collapsed, having to be held up by onlookers. He never regained consciousness.
The club in which it happened have not released a statement commenting on the events of the night and have distanced themselves from what went down.
The Dominican Republic’s medical examiner revealed that the man died from alcohol intoxication.
