To celebrate its fifth birthday, a club in France will debut two robot pole dancers.

The robot dancers will take to the stage at the SC-Club in Nantes wearing high heels with CCTV cameras as their heads.

The concept was thought of by Giles Walker, who thought of the idea a decade ago, and said the idea was to “play with the notion of voyeurism.”

The owner of SC-Club, Laurent Roue, has said the two new robots will not replace the club’s ten human dancers, expressing the bots will only appear as a way to honour the technology.

One of the human dancers at the club said: “They won’t really change our sector. They won’t replace us.

“We’re not in a vulgar job. It’s an artistic job. It’s something that’s beautiful, and robots won’t change that.”
