Essie Gang’s Michael Phantom has dropped dark visuals to his upbeat new track, “Madeleine”.
Housing controversial lyrics performed in a unique cadence and flow, “Madeleine” deals with dark themes and uses plays on words and metaphors to construct a trap-influenced anthem which merges together varying genres and styles.
Directed by Armin Druzanovic, the visuals to “Madeleine” are as dark as the lyrical content and the visuals begin with a disclaimer asking the audience not to take the visuals seriously; a clear response to some of the controversy courted on social media over the lyrical content and choice of album artwork.
Essie Gang is also home to South London hailing French rapper Octavian who has made waves this year on the music scene with his releases.
