Transport For London (TFL) have announced their plans to equip the London Underground with full 4G coverage by the mid-2020s.
The move will allow passengers to make calls and go online anywhere while on the tube.
4G will be be making its way underground very soon, with TFL stating the service will be available on the Jubilee line from March 2020.
The Chief Technology Officer at TFL has said: “We have begun the complex work to allow our customers to be able to get phone reception within our tunnels from March 2020, with more stations and lines coming online during the coming years.”
All tunnels are expected to be equipped with 4G by the mid-2020s.
There are currently 260 stations with wi-fi on the London Underground and with 4G coming very soon, you’ll be able to watch your favourite shows and chat to your friends whenever you’re travelling from A to B on the tube.
