Last month, we reported on Instagram’s plans to hide the number of likes on posts and now it looks like the social media app intend on hiding follower counts too.
Matt Navarra, a social media expert, took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the feature being tested on a user.
“Instagram also testing hiding follower counts on profiles (not just Like counts on posts)?”, he wrote.
The photo shows the account of a user in which their follower count cannot be seen.
It’s not quite clear whether or not the feature will be rolled out to all users soon but the Head of Instagram has said the company is working on a new layout in which follower counts are less significant.
