Congratulations are in order for Manchester City who earned themselves the title of champions after winning today’s FA Cup Final.
Manchester City obliterated Watford, winning the game at a score of 6-0 and the game saw an impressive hat-trick from Raheem Sterling, the first to occur at an FA Cup Final game since 1953. Sterling notably scored twice in the last ten minutes of the game.
Watch the man of the moment react to his record-breaking hat-trick below.
Man City have also become the first men’s team in English football history to complete a domestic treble in what has been an impressive and emotional season for football fans. The win also becomes Man City’s sixth FA Cup win.
On the win, Pep Guardiola, boss of Manchester City said to the BBC, “It was an incredible final for us and we have finished an incredible year. To all the people at the club, a big congratulations, especially the players because they are the reason why we have won these titles.”
Pep also said in a separate interview, “Of course it was an incredible final for us, not for Watford but it is what it is. For everyone, it’s a big congratulations to the staff and the players. In the final, this can make the difference. They defend really well and at 1-0 up it could have been much more difficult. This has not been done before. One team is going to do it again, then another team can do it but we were the first. We have to improve.”
