Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has officially unveiled his full collection with Adidas.
Called ‘The Donald Glover presents…’ collection, the artist with many titles including but not limited to actor, rapper, screenwriter and director has offered the market a new shoe line which offers a modern twist on the historic Adidas silhouette.
Coming in several colourways and making use of the distressed fashion trend, the shoes come with special laces that are designed to fray over time.

The release of this collection has seen creative and innovative marketing methods. During his recent Coachella performance, Donald Glover and Adidas used Apple’s AirDrop to surprise fans at the festival with free pairs of shoes from the collection. Fans had to accept the AirDrop request and then were gifted the shoes after the show.
The marketing method went viral and is likely to inspire more product releases in the future.
The artist also released five short films on YouTube to accompany the release of the collection. Titled Timber, 1985, Avocado, Polenta and Dusty, the films mix abstract imagery, social commentary and comedy. The film’s star Oscar-winning actress and comedian Mo’Nique.
