Netflix has launched “Direct”, a traditional TV channel-like feature that only shows one thing at a time.

France will be the initial launch for the service, enabling all Netflix subscribers in France to have access to “Direct” by the beginning of December.

Hosted on the web version only, “Direct” will prevent users from not knowing what to watch, by acting as a traditional TV service and having the same content for anyone who tunes in at any given time. The content will be anything from Netflix’s library.

“Direct” will be accessible to Netflix subscribers only and viewers will be able to log into their Netflix accounts and click the “Direct” button at the top of the page to access it.

The original Netflix library of choice will still be available.

Netflix stated: “Maybe you’re not in the mood to decide, or you’re new and finding your way around, or you just wanted to be surprised by something new and different.

“”Direct” is a web-based experience that’s the same for everyone who watches it: a real-time service that gives our members in France some of the best French and European content on the service – from Family business to La Casa de Papel, The Crown, to Unorthodox. Instead of choosing what to watch, you just want to start watching.”
