A2, the enigmatic South London rapper, producer, singer and all round artist, has been announced as Disturbing London’s latest signing.
Although his sound is clearly rooted in grime and London street music, A2 has often been tipped as creator of a whole new sound, which has in time become far more prominent across the board in urban music. His melodic and emotive style was recently the basis of a suspicious comparison to some of US star Bryson Tiller‘s own catalogue.
Disturbing London will manage 360 services for him including publishing and production ahead of his long awaited LP ‘Blue’ in Summer 2016. Two years since he began work on it, it’s fair to say that A2’s ‘Blue’ is a highly anticipated release.
He said, “I kept pushing it back because it didn’t feel right, but now I’ve got eight songs done and it’s the best music I’ve made,” he promises. “It’s the quality of what I’ve already made, but times 100. It feels, to me anyway, very real, very fresh, very new. It’s about the music, not me; I want the music to do the talking, I don’t want the focus to be on me.”
Dumi Oburota, CEO of Disturbing London said, “When we set up Disturbing London ten years ago, the intention was to house British home grown talent, exactly like A2″. He continued, “He is an extremely talented rapper, producer and artist that perfectly compliments our roster. I firmly believe A2 is the future.”
Congratulations are in order for the whole team then, our eyes are firmly set on you as we approach summer 16. If you’re yet to check out his incredible collection, then his discography is available for free download on his new website right here.
