Abbey Road Studios Launches Scholarship For Aspiring Young Black Producers & Engineers

Abbey Road Studios has announced that they are providing a new scholarship for aspiring, young black producers and engineers.

The scholarship will be granted to two black students, enabling them to complete an Advanced Diploma in music production and sound engineering at Abbey Road Institute London, then a year-long engineering apprenticeship at Abbey Road.

The scholarship candidates will be able to learn alongside other aspiring music producers, sound engineers and musicians,  develop skills in a professional studio setting, gain real world experience at Abbey Road Studios and develop their music industry network.

To apply for the scholarship, you’ll have to first apply and secure a place on the Abbey Road Institute Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering and then submit the Scholarship application. 

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, you’ll have to be:

– Been offered a place on the Advanced Diploma Course 

– Black African; Black Caribbean; Black Other; Mixed – White and Black Caribbean; Mixed – White and Black African; or Other mixed background (to include Black African, Back Other)

– A permanent UK resident 

– Aged between 18-25
