Airbnb Co-Founder & CEO Brian Chesky has tweeted that his company is supporting immigrants in a show of solidarity against Trump’s immigration ban.
Since the order was issued, 100 to 200 people have been detained in airports around the country with many high profile celebrities speaking out on the President’s decision to sign the immigration order.
Chesky joins a number of high profile billionaire company founders speaking against this topic, such as Google founder, Sergey Brin, who himself was a refugee and joined Protestors at San Fran airport this Saturday.
Mark Zuckerberg, an advocate for immigration reform in the US spoke about it on his platform, Facebook, stating, “Had we turned away refugees a few decades ago, Priscilla’s family wouldn’t be here today,” referring to his wife and the mother of his child.
Uber’s billionaire founder Travis Kalanick also criticized the order announcing that Uber were working on a compensation plan for drivers who have gone back to their home countries to visit their families and cannot re-enter the United States.
