The PS5 is one of the most anticipated product releases in 2020 and gamers are understandably excited.
Many took to online retailers earlier on in the week to secure themselves a preorder of the console but in disappointing news, Amazon have emailed several customers to let them know that their Playstation 5 orders may not arrive on release day as they hoped.
In an email sent to customers, Amazon said, “We’re contacting you about your order of PlayStation 5 to let you know in advance that you may not receive this item on the day it is released due to high demand. We’ll make every effort to get the item to you as soon as possible once released.”
In the Reddit PS5 community which has over 477,000 members – close to two thousand people have interacted to a thread talking about the possible delay.
One user said, “That happened to me with the PS4 launch. I ended up with a dual shock 4 and COD Ghosts and no console to use them on for over a week!”
Another added, “I got the same email. I imagine most people likely will receive the console on launch day, but some may not, so Amazon is just giving a heads up.”
On a brighter note, one user said, “ I’m thinking it’s just cover.”
