This year’s Love Island winners Amber and Greg have announced their split after five weeks of leaving the villa.
After taking home the £50,000 prize money and of course the social media fame and brand attention that comes with it, the two have called it quits and decided to go their separate ways.
According to reports and posts made by Amber’s friends, Greg dumped Amber by text and left her devastated.
Greg confirmed the rumours but denied the breakup occurring by text message during an appearance on The Late Late Showlast night.
He said, “So we’re mad about each other, what’s not to be mad about? She’s gorgeous, smart funny, she’s the Queen of Love Island for a reason but you need to be realistic about the situation. She lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course she deserves all of it and I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here”.
Greg also added, “I’m trying to get to the Olympics with the sevens team, I’ve got my law exams coming up so we’re both so jam-packed busy and you need to take these opportunities by the scruff of the neck. So we’re kind of just being realistic about the situation and protecting our careers and that’s where we are at the moment”.
Following Amber’s split from Michael on the show, she coupled up with Greg and the two spent 12 days together in the villa as a couple before winning and being declared champions.
