Anderson Paak. is joined by his band the Free Nationals for a wavey performance in the BBC 1Xtra Live Lounge.
The California artist is one of the hottest acts in the US at the moment, a prize signee of Atlantic Records, and a close affiliate of Hip-Hop legend Dr Dre who co-signed him to Aftermath and gave him a platform on his 2015 Compton album with six track features. Dre would also go on to executive produce Paak.’s latest album Oxnard which came out in November of last year and houses a stellar line up of features including Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Pusha T, Q-Tip, and Snoop Dogg, as well as the Doc himself.
Famed for being a tremendously talented live performer, there was no doubt Anderson and his Free Nationals were going to smash this Live Lounge. He gave a rendition of his popular track “Heart Don’t Stand a Chance” off of his 2016 sophomore album Venice, as well as “King James” a brand new track and ode to the basketball legend.
