Two years after releasing his breakthrough Malibu album, Anderson .Paak is back with his latest project, Oxnard.
Signed to Aftermath Entertainment you can hear Dr Dre’s signature touch throughout the production as well as his appearance on the eighth track, “Mansa Musa”. With a mixture of rapping, singing, drumming, funk and jazz, each individual track on the album blends together to create a hip-hop album that’s hard to compare to anything else.
.Paak said the mixture of styles within the release is to create an album that touches all corners of the culture that he’s from. “I want the cuts that they’re going to play in the barbershop, the cuts that the pretty girls are going to play while they’re putting on their makeup, I want the hoods to love it”.
With features from Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, Snoop Dogg, J.Cole and more, the album is full of huge records.
