Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been apprehended in Romania following the issuance of European arrest warrants by UK authorities, according to their spokesperson.
The allegations against the Tate brothers, spanning from 2012 to 2015, include charges of sexual aggression, as stated by their legal team.
In response, the Tate brothers have vehemently denied all accusations, as reiterated in their official statement.
Romanian law enforcement confirmed that UK authorities issued European arrest warrants for the duo on Monday, citing sexual offenses, including exploitation within Great Britain.
Following their apprehension, the Tate brothers were brought before the prosecutor attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal, who ordered their detention for 24 hours, as disclosed by the Romanian police.
A spokesperson for the controversial influencer expressed anticipation for a court decision on Tuesday regarding the execution of the warrant, labeling the charges as a resurgence of decade-old accusations, which have left the brothers “dismayed and deeply troubled.”
This development follows a prior court order in December, prohibiting Andrew Tate, 37, and Tristan, 35, from leaving Romania amid an ongoing investigation by Romanian authorities into separate allegations of rape, human trafficking, and involvement in a criminal syndicate, allegations vigorously denied by the brothers.
The investigation centres on accusations of exploiting women through an adult content enterprise, alleged to have operated as a criminal organisation, with two female Romanian associates also implicated alongside the Tate brothers, and seven alleged victims identified.
Andrew Tate, known for his controversial views and previous bans from social media platforms, has consistently maintained that Romanian prosecutors lack evidence and alleges a conspiracy to silence him.
